On Friday, December 7th, join the local community for an amazing night of fun, food, music, and friends - all to support charity. The 3rd Annual Hope from Helen Surf Silent Auction will take place from 7pm-10pm at the Blockade Runner in Wrightsville Beach and is presented by WBLivesurf.com and the Board Retailers Association.

Items up for auction include autographed surfboards, local art, photo prints, golf packages, jewelry, vacation packages, skateboards, snowboards, bicycles, and many other amazing items. In addition, there will be a raffle with hundreds of prizes given away throughout the night. Tower 7 Restaurant will provide food for the event and local musicians, The Gossin Brothers, will perform live music throughout the night. Admission is free.

Hope from Helen (HFH) is a 501(c)3, non-profit charity that supports local and global charities dedicated to health, education, the environment, animal welfare, and individuals and families in need. HFH was started in 2005 in honor of Helen Butler, who fought a courageous battle against lung and breast cancer. Helen was the mother of Sweetwater Surf Shop manager and WBLivesurf.com owner, Tony Butler.

In the last few years, nearly $86,000 has been raised for different charity organizations and people in need including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), American Cancer Society, PAWS Place, New Hanover Humane Society, Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital, Surf Aid, Life Rolls On, Buddy Pelletier Surfing Foundation, Surfrider Foundation, Wrightsville Beach Sea Turtle Project, and the Surfers Healing. In addition, the memorial fund has provided support for local families with serious and terminal illnesses and most recently, a campaign to curb cigarette butt litter on Wrightsville Beach.

Anyone interested in donating items for the auction may drop them off at Sweetwater Surf Shop. All donations are tax deductible.
